Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

The HealthComp Foundation is committed to the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. The Foundation recognizes that it has a responsibility to do its part to address past and current injustices to groups that have been historically disadvantaged from achieving their optimal health. We recognize that societal systems and structures have created inequities for groups and individuals based on factors that include, but are not limited to:  race, ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, economic means and educational attainment.

In our operating practices and grantmaking, we seek to address historic and current inequities with the goal of ensuring all people in our region have equal opportunity to live their healthiest lives, through the following practices:

  • Recruiting a diverse board of directors;
  • Engaging with and funding organizations serving the needs of diverse constituencies and those that have historically been underserved;
  • Prioritizing organizations and institutions with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; and
  • Advocating for policies and practices that advance social inclusion and equity.

Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is ongoing, and we look to continually learn from the community for opportunities to strengthen the ways in which we demonstrate these values.
